Bari L. Horton

Bari comes from a human resource and insurance background, holding a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.  Bari’s solid HR background extends from the construction industry, to a large southwest Michigan law firm, to a growing home healthcare agency employing more than 6,000.  In the construction industry, Bari helped develop and administer benefits for union and non-union employees, including Taft-Hartley plans.  During her tenure in the legal profession, she oversaw and managed the benefits for the employees and Partners, including executive benefits and professional liability insurance.   Bari was responsible for the merger and consolidation for multiple benefit plans as a result of the acquisition of over 5,000 employees while she was a Benefit Analyst for one of the fastest growing home healthcare agencies in the southwest.  With all of her HR experience she comes away with the knowledge that benefits have to benefit not only the employees but also the employer and the entire community.

After making the step into the sales and service of group and retirement benefits from human resources, Bari’s insurance sales background is the result of 10 years with a Fortune 300 company.  Bari obtained her Series 7 license and worked with employers in sales situations and conducting employee meetings, assisting employees with their defined benefit plans, profit sharing plans, and 401(k) plans.  She was a top selling producer in the country in group benefits and managed a sales and service office in Louisville, KY.  There, her focus was on the broker community and assisting their sales efforts, in addition to conducting sales meetings and overseeing the service needs of the brokers and their clients.

Bari is an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, TN and is currently a part of St. Paul’s Faith Leader’s group, has been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, a volunteer for Graceworks – a local non-profit that services the area’s needy and senior segment, a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and a parent volunteer at Franklin High School.  Her passions, in addition to her family, are reading and continuing her spiritual journey.
